i'm glad that things are finally getting better for me.
i paid up for BBQ already, finally decided on going.
anyway, i just came back from a BBQ @ Chevrons -.-
that'll be 2 BBQs straight for me.
i feel it's kinda strange. latimer came to teach english, many people improved. for me, my standard really dropped ALOT! my english didn't use to be of this low standard. and i really don't know what's wrong. it's like, i really hate my english results. and it's like NONE of the 4 components improved at all, all just dropped. i can only mian qiang say that my letter is still of about the same standard as before. i have never failed comprehension before, in my entire life, but i got lowest 8.5 for this year, new record for me. my summary used to be of the 16 to 17 range, which always helped to pull up my overall. but now? it's like 12 to 13 range! my essays at least used to be of an average of 18, now it's like in the 13 to 15 range. and that's like WHAT THE HECK! maybe i can't do well with teachers who likes to tell stories... for example, literature is all about poems, prose etc, and i always fail. now my grades are all Cs, or just fail, previously it was average B4. i'm not saying latimer is not good, but it's just really strange. and the thing is, i've attended EVERY SINGLE ONE of her remedial, be it make-up or extra, however, all remains the same. it just seems so difficult for me.
went to the library today. was supposed to teach peifang a maths. in the end, we did our own things and by the time we completed, i had to leave for the BBQ already.
english remedial schedule kinda like sucky. but i shall just persevere for the sake of my english, for the sake of Os. AHH! why is english so important? it's just a language. isn't it enough that each person knows 1 language? why be so kiasu, master so many languages? and why must it specifically be english? it's SO SO SO unfair to people who are not good in english. think of it if 1 day MOE says people who fail chemistry will suffer the same fate as people who fail english, our class population will be reduced greatly. it's just SO unfair, but anyway, has anything ever been fair? once again, it's just HUMAN NATURE.
anyway, i HATE singapore's education system. it's TOO realistic. just now, i heard people say they sent their 2 year old kids to this & that program to train them to use their brains, so that they will be smarter when they grow up, and each course costs about $700 to $800. OMG! i think those people are really too rich. you see the kind of harm the education system is doing to the population? education in singapore is like way overrated. your life depends on your education. with this going on, i think majority of the people in singapore will start to turn in nerds. children nowadays don't play with toys, they use computers. they use educational softwares. they use memory cards. they attend many courses. they have many types of lessons. their schedules are so tightly-packed. few people cares about morals. people have no integrity, people have no respect, people have no sense of what's right & wrong. it's the HARM the education system is doing to the future generation, so what kind of future are the teachers moulding for the nation? what will the next generation be like? i think primary 1 kids will start having handphones. upper primary students will start owning PDAs. by secondary 1, students will have their own laptop. instead of broadband, people will all be using wireless. television screens will be replaced by plasmas. i can't imagine the type and intensity of the changes... we'll just wait & see. but in this situation, i don't think we can 'sit back & relax & enjoy'.
LOL! i had a really wonderful sleep last night. slept from 7plus, almost 8pm all the way till 6plus today. =] and bloody hell, it was only 7:45am and they started locking us students out. damn, it's not even 7:50am yet. which country are you living in? please reset your watch or clock or handphone or whatever that tells you the time. in the end, they finally let us in and had to go parade square immediately. but the guard was saying 'go to the square straight' -.- then all the others were late for coming from class to 'square'. 1st batch got by quite easily. 2nd batch was really bad for them lah. and some people who's already in the 'square' think it's so funny. the harm that television programmes has on the young. urgh, it's BAD!
my post today is emphasising so much on BAD. but there are grey areas in life, there's always a GOOD part, just that i'm lazy to mention as we can all see it ourselves, as long as you're optimistic enough! =]
i failed once again @ 12:57:00 am
